Stephanie Schechter is a painter known for her meticulous, bold, graphic depictions of signs and architecture. Her latest works explore nature as a subject, through hard-edge, precise oil paintings and more expressive, intuitive acrylic paintings. In all her works, she focuses on form, color, and composition. By breaking things down into their simplest elements, she visually expresses what she finds poignant about her subjects using “the fewest words.”
A New York native, Schechter graduated from Rhode Island School of Design, where she received a BFA in Industrial Design. Although she began her creative career as a designer, she now uses painting to communicate the beauty she finds in the world. She lives and works in Providence, RI.
Her paintings have been included in international publications, and exhibitions and collections throughout the United States. She is represented by Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts.
